Thinksite began in the late 90s as the new media division of the Laux Agency, a marketing firm in Oshkosh, WI. During the dot-com era, advertising and marketing agencies were expanding to the web and trying to find a niche in the ever-growing market. The Laux Agency had an idea and sold it to a client, and then had to hire programmers to bring the idea to life.
In 2004, Eddie Zelhofer, one of the first Thinksite employees, purchased the Thinksite name and logo from the agency and created his own web development and hosting business called Thinksite, LLC. At that time, Eddie's specialty was building large programmed sites using WebDNA, Flash, HTML and XML. Today, he focuses less on large programmed sites and Flash-based projects and more on static and functional sites for businesses and organizations, as well as search engine optimization and search engine marketing.
